Pulp charles5/10/2023 ![]() ![]() Browse their websites, too, when shopping for newly-written adventures.Īdventures in Bronze The “All-New Wild Adventures of Doc Savage,” being written by Will Murray, also fall into the New Pulp category, despite having a direct link to Lester Dent and the pulp era. Keep in mind, many of the purveyors of classic pulp magazines and material also carry New Pulp books. The stories can be new stories of old pulp characters, or new stories of new pulp-like characters. (Publishers of stories that take place in the 1960s through the present day or with a present-day sensibility won’t make the cut.) Narrowing the category down further, we define New Pulp as stories that take place during the pulp era, or science-fiction, fantasy, horror, and other pulp genres written from the perspective of the pulp era. We’ll concentrate on written prose, rather than comics or sequential art, in our coverage of New Pulp. It’s called New Pulp - stories by modern fans and authors that recreate the style of adventures that appeared in the pulp magazines during the pulp era. ![]()

Hunted by Abi Ketner5/10/2023 ![]() ![]() Now that I’ve caught my breath its time to tell everyone how amazing this book was!īeing the second book in any series always worries me. I finished the book two days ago, and oh boy did I need those two days to come down from that book hangover. ![]() I cannot wait for Liberated!įirst off, I have to say Hunted was one of my most anticipated books of 2015 and let me tell you it did not disappoint. After breaking your heart, and leaving you swooning, Hunted still manages to end on an extremely high note that will leave you guessing and your mouth hanging open. (And how could you, he's an adorable dog for crying out loud!) But back to Cole and Lexie, not only are they dealing with their own struggles they have to deal with so much craziness around them and live in such a terrifying world. I’ve yet to talk to anyone who's read Branded and Hunted who doesn't like Zeus. Of course, we have Zeus, the amazing dog companion who everyone loves. Plus, Lexie continues to be such a realistic character and goes through substantial development. Lexie is so tough and she never gives up what she believes in. Hunted really dives into exploring more of the amazing characters of Lexie, Cole, Bruno and Grace. In my opinion, Hunted was a step up from Branded, the writing was better, and it was even more suspenseful then Branded, which I didn’t think possible.Ĭole continues to be an absolutely amazing guy. ![]() It was fast paced, had the right amount of action, mixed in some sexy times with Cole and Lexie, yet still managed to break my heart. ![]() Tress of the emerald sea hardcover5/10/2023 ![]() ![]() US 4. ![]() ![]() Condition: Brand New US 30.00 Buy It Now Add to cart Make offer Add to Watchlist Fast and reliable. I will say that each of the four stories had fantastic concepts, but, unfortunately, each one was buried under unsympathetic or stock King characters, interminable sidetracks, plot devices seemingly designed only to extend an already bloated story, and endings where the protagonist seems to pull the solution out of his ass. I also found most of the characters, with the exception of Dirty Dave from Policemen and Kevin's father from Sun Dog. ![]() Maybe it was the mood I was in, I don't know, but I found all the dream sequences-a plot device that I absolutely despise-particularly frustrating, as every one of the four stories had at least one, and usually multiple sequences. About the Book A domestic flight makes an unusual stopover in the land of The Langoliers a writer confronts the reality of his success in Secret Window. This time around, quite frankly, I didn't like any of them. I had no memory of Library Policeman, and dimly remember thinking The Sun Dog was only okay. I was a huge fan of the TV Show Merlin back in the day and I find it super interesting I mean, even my favourite Harry Potter fanfiction uses the Arthurian legend. From the reviews on Goodreads before reading this, I was optimistic that I would enjoy it especially because I love the Arthurian Legend retellings. This book is authored by Thomas Wheeler but there is also artwork in between the story which was created by Frank Miller. I had personally never heard of this book until I was perusing a Penguin Teen email about their newest releases, and it stated that this was becoming a Netflix adaptation! I was intrigued, and Penguin kindly sent me the movie tie-in of the book in exchange for a review, so thank you Penguin Teen Australia! ![]() |
